'Stung' is a zine I make each month. As a photographer and visual artist, it's a place for me to share artwork, photos and text. It's a way for me to connect through sharing ideas, art and music.
Each month's full colour issue has a different theme, which will either be a reflection on a topic I'm interested in, or feelings about the world around me and my experiences.
When I was a live music photographer, I always wanted to capture emotion. Since I’ve been painting again, I’ve wanted to see how accurately I could capture emotion with my paintbrush. So what better way to start than the big, raw emotions on screen in horror movies?!
I wanted to pay tribute to iconic final girls, the women who went through it all and survived. This is by no means the definitive list, but a selection from different sub-genres and eras.
Issue #10 is 28 pages features the acrylic paintings I did of a selection of Horror Heroines and some text about the movies included.
Printed on 130gsm silk touch paper. Size A6.
